St Vrain State Park is not a park of pristine wilderness. It is within a few hundred feet of I 25 and you can see fast food restaurants from many areas of the park. It does have great views of the Front Range and oppurtunity to spot interesting birds. There are various trails that circle the different ponds at the park. The Coot Pond Trail has great views of the Front Range. The Pelican Pond Trail is a pleasant stroll around Pelican Pond and passes next to the St Vrain River on the north side.
