This is a great hike north of Estes Park in Rocky Mountain National Park. Although not a long hike, it gains a lot of elevation quickly, which is rewarded with amazing views of Estes Park and the surrounding peaks. Gem Lake is small lake surrounded by interesting granite formations. On the way up you'll pass a strange rock formation known as Paul Bunyan's Boot.

About 2 miles northeast of downtown Estes Park off Lumpy Ridge Rd
