Description

Fossil Creek Reservoir Natural Area is located roughly between Fort Collins and Loveland. It is an important bird habitat and a great birding destination. It has many bird species, including bald eagles during the winter. The Cattail Flats Trail is 1.8 mile trail through rolling prairie with views of the foothills and reservoir. The trail is closed November 15 to March 1. Other trails include the 0.3 mile paved Heron Loop and the Sandpiper Trail.
