There are various trails starting from the Elkhorn Creek Trailhead which are in various stages of construction. There are many unmarked social trails in this area so watch out for the trail you are actually looking for. The Elkhorn Creek Trail does not currently go through all the way to the Granite Ridge Trail but you can take the first section of this trail. The Elkhorn Creek Trail travels west/northwest from the trailhead through meadow and forest to a bluff up above Elkhorn Creek, where there are terrific views of the valley below.

About 41 miles northwest of Fort Collins, via Highway 287 to Red Feather Lakes Rd to County Rd 68C.
