A great hike about 20 miles northwest of Fort Collins. It has wide open views of rolling hills and the foothills. You can take the trail to a bridge at the North Fork of the Cache La Poudre River before completing the loop. This trail is exposed with little shade. There is an option to extend your hike by taking the 1.8 mile OT Trail loop south of the bridge. From February 1 to July 15 the area downstream of the bridge is closed to public access to protect the Golden Eagle nesting areas.
